The crisis in Ukraine resulting from Russia’s invasion of the country has prompted numerous questions and inquiries regarding possible immigration relief for Ukrainian citizens.

On March 3, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas designated Ukraine for Temporary Protected Status. This will give Ukrainian citizens 18 months of status and work authorization, which may be renewed if the country has not recovered from the crisis by September of 2023.
