Susannah is a native of The Bronx, New York. She obtained her under-graduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to joining Walker Gates Vela, she served for two years as a staff attorney for the Immigration Legal Services Program of Catholic Charities of Central Texas.
Susannah is a regular participant in pro bono programs and has been recognized on numerous occasions for her advocacy and commitment to public service. As a law student, she was named a Public Interest Scholar with the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law, as well as a Peggy Browning Fellow for Labor and Employment Law with CASA of Maryland.
Her practice focuses heavily on representation of unaccompanied immigrant minors, U visas, and criminal and deportation defense.
